The Time for Immigration Reform is Now!

From Korean Resource Center

The Korean Resource Center believes that change rises up from the grassroots, one person at a time. We all know that immigrants, regardless of status, are America’s families, workers, and neighbors, especially in the Korean American community. While President Barack Obama and Congress are poised to address our broken immigration system, we come together with the shared believe that immigrants are vital to our economy and enrich our culture and society. We need an immigration reform that keeps families together, provides a pathway to citizenship, and protects the basic rights of all immigrants.

"AMERICA is our Home" Grassroots Advertisement Campaign

The Korean Resource Center and the Orange County Congregation Community Organization (OCCCO) invite you to join our “AMERICA is our home” advertising campaign to place a compelling one-page advertisement in the Orange County Register newspaper and online.

The time for fair and common sense immigration reform is now. Regardless of immigration status, immigrants share our pews; go to school alongside our children, and work side by side to help us form strong communities throughout Southern California. For too long, families have been separated by a broken immigration system. Thousands of community members have been living in the shadows without a pathway to citizenship. It is critical that our Congressional representatives understand the urgency and depth of these issues.

This is why on Sunday June 2, we ran a full page newspaper advertisement that featured images and stories of the contributions of new American immigrants in our local communities. We believe that stories from our communities about why America has become their cherished home are the best way to illustrate why immigration is good for America. We have directly engaged thousands of community members in the important conversation about how commonsense immigration reform can look like. This AD will allow us to educate members of Congress in Orange County as well as engage thousands more community members.
