  5. Create Shortcut of C:\CommSolution\commsolution.exe on your desktop or your start menu.

Warning: CommSolution was meant to be used over an internal network, and was not built to be used over the internet, and this method has the danger of generating two separate versions of the database file in the below scenario:

  • User A opens CMS
  • User B opens CMS
  • User A makes changes on CMS
  • User B makes changes on CMS
  • User A closes CMS. Dropbox will start uploading the revised CMS DB file.
  • User B closes CMS. Dropbox will start uploading the second revised file, find that the two files don't match, and create another file with the name of "Conflicted copy".
  • As a result, entries made by User B will be excluded from the official CMS DB file.

The recommended method to avoid this is by using CMS from home during time periods when other staff are unlikely to be working on CMS (nights, weekends)
